Chicago Blackhawks Tickets Empty
PostSubject: Chicago Blackhawks Tickets   Chicago Blackhawks Tickets EmptyFri Feb 25, 2011 3:33 am

Chicago Blackhawk’s are one of the original six teams of NHL and was established in September 1926. Major Frederick McLaughlin spent $200,000 to buy Portland Rosebuds of WHL. WHL teams couldn’t match the higher paid NHL so Major McLaughlin moved its team to Chicago.
The Major served for United States Army's 333rd Machine Gun battalion in World War I and belonged to the 85th Blackhawk division. He liked the name and also knew that a 'Chief Black Hawk' roamed the Midwest, so the nickname seemed like a natural. The Black hawks lost out in the quarter-finals in their first year and finished out of playoff contention in their second season.
The Chicago Blackhawk’s won against the Detroit Redwings in four consecutive games in 1933-34 in their first running for the Stanley Cup. Chicagoans won their second cup in 1937-38 against Toronto Maple Leafs. After that, Blackhawk’s were in deep recession. Problems originated as the club was in financial problems during the 1950s.
Blackhawk’s saw most unstable times in franchise history when their superstar went against Wirts family in a salary issue. Bobby Hull left the Blackhawk’s as he didn’t agree on what they were willing to pay and left NHA to join newly planned WHA. Blackhawk’s played good aggressive hockey and became famous for physical style of play. Immense players like Denis Savard, Chris Chelios, Steve Larmer, Jeremy Roenick and Eddie Belfour joined Blackhawk’s in 1980s. Team’s name was always written in two words ‘Black Hawks’ until 1986. Owner Bill Wirtz officially changed the spellings to be traditional to Chicago’s original license of 1926. Blackhawk’s reached to the Stanley Cup finals under the control of coach Mike Keenan after nearly twenty years.
Chicago Blackhawk’s went to the top of Norris division and lost only semi-finals under Darryl Sutter as coach. Team continued its performance with some wins and some defeats in different matches with overall reasonable performance. Team shifted from 65 year old Chicago Stadium to brand new united center. Craig Hartsburg became the coach after Sutter.
For Hawks 1997-98 season was a recession point in their history because they missed competitions for the first time after 1968. Blackhawk former player Dirk Graham took over Harsburg. Coaching condition in Chicago was far away from establishment because Graham left after 59 games and Lorne Molleken and Alpo Suhonen were trying their hand at the job. When Brian Sutter was signed as a coach in 2000 team got stable and concentrated on more defending strategies and hard working style of play. General Manager Mike Smith of Blackhawk’s carried on with building a young team after losing superstars like Jeremy Roenick and Tony Amonte.

Stability was once again restored when Brian Sutter was hired as coach in 2000 and the team took up a more defensive and hard working style of play. After losing star players like Jeremy Roenick and Tony Amonte to free agency, the Blackhawk’s under the guidance of general manager Mike Smith continue to build around a young team.
